Building a Specialist Dental Practice: A Journey with Braemar Finance

That was certainly the case for Dr Meena, a specialist in endodontics, periodontics, and prosthodontics including dental implantology, who recently took the bold step of launching her own multi-surgery private dental practice in Edgware, North West London.
Opportunity
Prior to this, Dr Meena spent over 25 years in the NHS including 12 years working as a Consultant in Restorative Dentistry within the NHS.
To bring her vision to life, Meena needed funding not only for specialist dental equipment but also for the build and setup of the practice itself. With the support of Braemar Finance, she was able to secure combined Business Loan and Hire Purchase agreements. This enabled her to transform an empty shell into a fully equipped, modern clinic offering a wide range of general and specialist dental services.
Solution
Working closely with Dr Meena, we provided tailored finance solutions to support both the construction and fit-out of the new practice. This included a Business Loan for the build, alongside Hire Purchase agreements for key equipment, such as dental chairs, intra-oral X-ray systems, cabinetry, CBCT imaging, suction units, and a compressor.
The practice will initially operate with one surgery, open several days a week including Saturdays (by appointment), while Dr Meena continues her private work part-time. She is supported by her husband, a Consultant Occupational Health Physician and Director of R-Health Ltd, who brings valuable business experience to the venture.
In addition to the dental clinic, the couple is launching an Academy to deliver training courses for GDPs, GPs, hygienists, technicians, and students. These courses are expected to generate an additional monthly income after the initial launch period.
