Meet the team: Jo Asbury

Meet Jo Asbury, Area Sales Manager covering the Midlands region. Jo has been with the business since 2018. In this Q&A she tells us a little bit more about her role and herself.

Tell us about your role with Braemar Finance

I’m part of the Sales team here at Braemar Finance and I’m responsible for providing support to existing and prospective clients in the professions sector in and around the Midlands area.  I’m able to offer them an extensive range of tailored finance options/solutions to meet their funding requirements.  It’s an important part of my role to ensure that every client feels that they have received a seamless and professional service from their initial enquiry, to the underwriting process through to the drawdown of their facility.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

I really enjoy building relationships with our clients and business partners – there’s nothing better than the feeling of a job well done.  It’s lovely to receive an email from a client thanking you for your help knowing that the service you’ve provided has made a difference!

Which three words would you use to describe yourself and why?

Motivated, organised and reliable – you definitely require all three of these attributes to get the job done, if I say I’m going to do something then I do it!

Can you describe a professional achievement/highlight?

One of my professional highlights was passing the Certificate in Lending Skills (The Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland) with distinction in 2016 – it was quite an achievement given I hadn’t taken exams for many years, I was absolutely over the moon!

What are people unlikely to know about you?

When my children were in primary school, I was the manager of the Little League Netball Team they played for - my girls loved me being involved and spending quality time with them.  I loved watching the team grow and develop their netball skills and ability.

When you’re not in work, what do you like to do?

Spending time with my friends and family, going on holidays/weekends away and enjoying the odd glass of wine!
